Captain Waldemar William Powell Shirley-Rollison, (24 June, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of G. H. Shirley-Rollison, an engineer.[1]

He served in Repulse from May, 1917 through 15 December, 1918, and then in Princess Royal until May 1919.[2]

Shirley-Rollison was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1921. He received training as an aerial observer in 1926. In 1927, he received a short course in submarines.[3]

Shirley-Rollison was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1929.[4]

Shirley-Rollison was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1933.[5]

World War II

He commanded the air station Landrail in the acting rank of Captain from 23 June, 1941 to 22 September, 1941.[6]

Shirley-Rollison was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1941.[7]

He was placed on the Retired List on 8 January, 1951. In March, he was admitted to Haslar Hospital for six days with bronchitis.[8]
