Captain Henry Lockhart St. John Fancourt, D.S.O. (1 April, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Army Colonel St. F. Fancourt, C.B..

Fancourt served in the battlecruiser Princess Royal from 1 January, 1916, probably being in her at the Battle of Jutland.[1]

Fancourt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1920.[2]

Fancourt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1928.[3]

Fancourt was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1933. An appointment in command of the light cruiser Diomede vice Farquhar dated 8 May 1936 was cancelled.[4]

World War II

Fancourt was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1940.[5]

Placed on the Retired List on 7 January, 1950.[6]
