Lieutenant R.N.R. (temporary) Donald MacDonald, ( – 10 November, 1918) served in the Royal Naval Reserve. There was also a Gunner named Donald MacDonald in the Royal Navy.

Without his Service Record, I can find no clue as to his date of birth.

Life & Career

MacDonald died when his command, the paddle minesweeper Ascot was lost to a mine on 10 November, 1918 – the last Royal Navy ship to be lost to direct enemy action in the war.
