H.M.S. Warrior was one of two Warrior Class armoured frigates completed for the Royal Navy.

There was also a armoured cruiser Warrior launched in 1905.

Service

The ship was paid out of commission at Portsmouth on the morning of 22 November, 1864.[1]

Amazingly, Warrior was placed into dockyard hands at Portsmouth on 30 April, 1894, despite being then the oldest ironclad in the Navy, to be modernized with new 30-pound pressure box boilers, which were in store, for further service.[2]

She was commissioned at Portsmouth as a depot ship for torpedo boats and T.B.Ds. on 16 July, 1902.[3] This stint of service did not last long, as she again in the hands of a Chief Engineer in 1904.
