Captains
Dates of appointment are provided when known.
- Lieutenant-Commander William C. Castle, 3 May, 1915[8][9] – 9 June, 1915[10] (invalided)
- Lieutenant-Commander Maurice B. Leslie, 11 April, 1916[11] – late April, 1916[Inference]
- Lieutenant-Commander George M. Hill, 22 April, 1916[12] (lent by S.N.O., Egypt)
- Lieutenant-Commander Maurice B. Leslie, – 11 November, 1917[13] (vessel lost under his command)
It is not clear when Hill handed command back to Leslie, but Hill's service record unconvincingly indicates 1918. Leslie suffered from influenza from 15 June 1916, though the year is not clearly legible.
