Percy Lockhart Harnam Noble
Admiral SIR Percy Lockhart Harnam Noble, G.B.E., K.C.B., C.V.O., L.L.D. Royal Navy (16 January, 1880 – 25 July, 1955) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
The son of Charles S. Noble, late of the Bengal Staff Corps.
Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 1 April, 1902.
Promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 31 August, 1913.
Promoted to the rank of Captain with seniority of 30 June, 1918.
Appointed to command the light cruiser Calliope on 15 October, 1918.[1]
Noble was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 10 October, 1929, vice Eliot, placed on the Retired List.[2]
In 1931, Noble superseded Harold Owen Reinold as Chairman of the Committee appointed to consider the question of the Paint Supply of the Fleet.[3]
Promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral with seniority of 9 May, 1935.
Promoted to the rank of Admiral with seniority of 3 May, 1939.
He reverted to the Reitred List on 24 March, 1947.
