H.M.S. L 9 was one of thirty-five "L" class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

In 1925, she was part of Fourth Submarine Flotilla on the China Station, but she has no officers listed with her in the Navy List.[7] In August, Lieutenant Kenneth John Riddell was appointed to her, but he is not indicated as being "in command."[8]
