George Digby Morant

Admiral SIR George Digby Morant, K.C.B., Royal Navy (8 August, 1837 – 13 February, 1921) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
On 6 February, 1866, he was promoted to the rank of Commander.[1]
Morant was promoted to the rank of Captain on 13 February, 1873.[2]
Flag Rank
Morant was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 20 June, 1895, vice Maxwell.[3] He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 13 March, 1901, vice Culme-Seymour.[4] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870 he was placed on the Retired List, at his own request, on 24 May.[5]
