Herbert Goodenough King-Hall
Admiral SIR Herbert Goodenough King-Hall, K.C.B., C.V.O., D.S.O., LL.D., Royal Navy (15 March, 1862 – 20 October, 1936) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1895.[1]
He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1900.[2]
King-Hall was appointed Assistant Director of Naval Intelligence on 31 March, 1905.[3]
Flag Rank
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 22 June, 1909, vice Tillard.[4]
King-Hall was appointed Commander-in-Chief on the Cape of Good Hope Station on 28 December, 1912, and assumed command on 22 January, 1913.[5]
Great War
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 5 March, 1915, vice Jellicoe.[6]
On 1 January, 1916, he was appointed a Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).[7]
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Admiral, vice Brock, on 25 August, 1918.[8]
Post-War
He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 May, 1922.[9]
