H.M.S. Imperieuse (1883)

H.M.S. Imperieuse was was converted into a depot ship in 1905 and renamed H.M.S. Sapphire II. She reverted to H.M.S. Imperieuse in 1909 until she was sold in 1913.

Service

Imperieuse commissioned at Portsmouth on 1 March, 1888,[6] under Captain William H. May for service on the China Station.[7]

Whilst serving as flagship of the Pacific Station from 1896 to 1899 the Imperieuse is said to have visited the Cocos Islands in search of treasure.
