Captain (retired) Ralph Wilmot Wilkinson, R.N., Retired (4 May, 1884 – 22 December, 1936) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Ningpo, China.

Wilkinson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1906.[1]

Wilkinson was appointed in command of the destroyer Fame on 7 October, 1912.[2]

Great War

On 10 December, 1913, Wilkinson was appointed in command of the destroyer Ribble.[3]

Wilkinson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1914.[4]

An appointment in command of Narborough on 17 October, 1917 was cancelled.[5]

On 21 November, 1917, he was appointed in command of the destroyer Verulam.[6]

On 4 July, 1918 he was admitted to Granton Hospital with influenza. On 1 August, he returned to Verulam.[7]

Wilkinson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1918.[8]==Post-war==

Post-War

On 12 November, 1919, Wilkinson was appointed in command of the submarine Seawolf.[9]

After being superseded in command of the convoy sloop Chrysanthemum in August, 1926, Wilkinson took some unpaid time and then was appointed for work with the Naval Intelligence Division, vice Lovett Cameron on 15 December, 1926. He was superseded in this last appointment on 16 December, 1929.

Wilkinson was promoted to the rank of Captain as he was placed on the Retired List on 16 June, 1930.[10]
