Philip Acheson Warre
Commander Philip Acheson Warre, O.B.E., R.N. (30 October, 1885 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Warre was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 26 on 1 November, 1906.[1]
Warre was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1908.[2]
He was appointed to a Long Signal Course at Portsmouth on 1 February, 1913.[3]
Great War
On 1 August, 1914, he was appointed to the armoured cruiser Drake as Flag Lieutenant to Rear-Admiral William L. Grant who was in command of the Mediterranean Cruiser Squadron.[4]
On 24 October, 1915, he was appointed to Minotaur as Flag Lieutenant to Rear-Admiral Herbert L. Heath of the Seventh Cruiser Squadron, remaining with him as it was redesignated the Second Cruiser Squadron[5] and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1916.[6]
On 1 October, 1918, he was appointed to Barham as Flag Lieutenant-Commander (S) to Vice-Admiral Leveson of the Fifth Battle Squadron.[7]
Post-war
Warre was promoted to the rank of Commander on 20 June, 1919.[8]
