U.S.S. Yukon was one of three Arctic Class stores ships completed for the U.S. Navy.
Service
Template:DANFS She was built as S.S. Mehanno for the United States Shipping Board and acquired by the Navy on 14 November, 1921. Renamed Yukon, she was converted to a stores ship and commissioned on 6 December, 1921 with Commander Leo Sahm in command. After only brief service in the Pacific, on 14 April, 1922 she was decommissioned and placed into reserve at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, not to see service until shortly before World War II.
