U.S.S. Stranger was an armed yacht purchased by the U.S. Navy in 1898 for service in the Spanish-American War.
Construction
Service
Stranger was loaned to the Louisiana Naval Militia in late 1898, remaining in their service until 30 September, 1915, when she was sunk after colliding with a dry dock in New Orleans during a hurricane. She was stricken on 23 October, 1915 and her further history is unknown.[7]
