Fleet Engineer (Royal Navy)

The rank of Fleet Engineer was established by Order in Council in 1886, to be held by officers with 8 years' seniority as Staff Engineer and Chief Engineer. It ranked with Commanders of the Military Branch.[1]

From 1 April, 1903, Fleet Engineers were styled Engineer Commanders.[2]
