Lieutenant-Commander Peter Norton Churchill, (25 September, 1903 – 8 July, 1940) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was awarded the Robert Roxburgh Memorial Prize for being the Naval Cadet who obtained the highest place in the grand aggregate of marks in the Passing Out Examination at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth.

He qualified as an Interpreter in Greek.

Churchill was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1933.[1]

World War II

Churchill was appointed to Gloucester on 24 April, 1938.[2] He was apparently among the eighteen men killed when the ship was hit by Italian bombers on 7 July, 1940.
