Life & Career
Read was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 October, 1910.
Read was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 October, 1918.
Read was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1924.
Read was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1932.
Read was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 6 February, 1942.
Read was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 June, 1945.
