H.M.S. Kinsha (1900)

Britain bought the ship Pioneer in November of 1900, converted her to a gunboat, renaming her H.M.S. Kinsha for service on the China Station.

Design

The ship were as follows:[5]

  • 616 tons
  • 192 feet overall (180 between perpendiculars)
  • 6.5 foot draught
  • 30 foot beam
  • 14 knots on 1200 I.H.P.

Armament

  • two 12-pdrs

Service

Re-commissioned at Woosung on 19 March, 1910.[6]
