Sheerness Gunnery School

On 2 July, 1906, Captain Arthur A. C. Galloway was appointed commanding officer.[1] Captain Charles H. Coke was appointed in command on 14 January, 1907,[2] after Galloway was appointed to Portsmouth Royal Naval Barracks.[3] Sheerness Gunnery School was transferred to Chatham on 1 July, 1908. The final parade was held on 26 June, with Rear-Admiral Coke and the Staff Officers present. On the officers and men leaving the drill ground for the last time, the Gunnery School Band played "Auld Lang Syne".[4]
