The Argo Mounting was a rangefinder mounting that was gyro-stabilised in yaw.

Design

Installations

The mounting could be in a revolving armoured hood in the G.C.T. or be free-standing, typically in the fore top. A ship – always a capital ship[Fact Check] – typically had just one, if any.

The following ships with an Argo Mount in their fore top were to be provided one telescope Pattern G. 329 from Portsmouth in May, 1914:[1]
