Commander (retired) Stuart John Layton Bennett, (28 January, 1891 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Bennett was the son of Chartered Accountant E. L. Bennett.

Bennett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 April, 1913. During much of the war, he was navigator in the destroyer Miranda and the sloop Cadmus.[1]

Bennett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 April, 1921.[2]

Bennett was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 14 February, 1934.[3]

World War II

Reverted to the Retired List on 10 September 1946.[4]
