Life & Career
Knowles was appointed Lieutenant & Commander of the destroyer Racehorse on 24 January, 1910.[1]
Knowles was appointed in command of the destroyer Lydiard on 27 October, 1914.[2]
He was appointed in command of the destroyer leader Grenville on 22 March, 1918.[3]
Knowles was appointed in command of the flotilla leader Douglas on 9 July, 1920.[4]
In May, 1924, Knowles was appointed in command of the light cruiser Capetown.[5]
