Frederick Clayton Woodhouse served in the Royal Navy and was stationed in the "A" turret of the battlecruiser Lion at the Battle of Jutland.

His account of the battle can be found in the Liddle Collection at the University of Leeds, and suggests he may have been the trainer, as he had a sighting port and no apparent direct duty while the ship were under director firing.
