Captain (retired) Henry Theodore Augustus Bosanquet, C.V.O., R.N. (3 August, 1870 – 17 January, 1959) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Bosanquet was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 25 August, 1892.
Retired as physically unfit on 4 May 1898. He would spend much of his considerable remaining life supporting naval societies.[1]
Bosanquet was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 25 August, 1900.
Working with kite balloons with the R.N.A.S., Bosanquet was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 13 August, 1916.
Bosanquet was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) in recognition of service rendered during the war, dated 11 November 1918.
Bosanquet's papers at the National Maritime Museum bespeak a great fascination with the history of naval swords and dirks.
