Captain Francis Adams Beasley, M.V.O. (29 August, 1881 – 24 June, 1935) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
The son of Robert St. John Beasley, Esq. was born in Queenstown.
Beasley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1903.[1]
Beasley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 September, 1911.[2]
Beasley was appointed to Queen Elizabeth in November, 1914 and served in her as acting Commander from October 1918.[3]
Beasley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1915.[4]
Beasley was appointed to Hercules from January 1917 through the end of the war. In April 1918, Beasley was the President of the "Abadaba [N word] Minstrel Troupe" which performed a racially-charged variety show aboard the battleship.[5]
Beasley was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1921.[6]
He was retired at his own request dated 10 July, 1922.[7]
