Rear-Admiral William Lindsay Jackson, D.S.O., R.N. (15 July, 1889 – 12 August, 1962) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Brenwood[?], Essex, the son of W. M. Jackson, Esq..[1]
He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1910.[2][3]
Jackson was appointed as Gunnery Officer in the monitor Prince Eugene on 2 August, 1915.[4] He served in this capacity until 28 October, 1918.[5]
He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1918.[6][7]
Jackson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1929.[8][9]
World War II
Jackson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 25 June, 1940.[10]
He served as the R. N. Attaché at Ankara, vice O'Donnell, leaving for there at the end of November, 1941.[11]
He reverted to the Retired List on 21 April, 1947.[12]
