Captain Thomas Arthur Charles Pakenham, (4 October, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of W. L. Pakenham, Esq., engineer passed out of the Training Establishment on 1 May 1917 and was appointed to the battlecruiser Repulse. On 22 January, 1919 he was appointed to H.M.S. Renown, where he remained until November 1920.[1]
Pakenham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1921.[2]
After having been recently appointed to Revenge as second gunnery officer, on 28 August 1927, he was reported sick on shore with neurasthenia. It was judged so bad that he would be unable to travel and "[would] not be fit for duty ofr some considerable time."[3]
Pakenham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1929.[4]
Pakenham was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1935.[5]
World War II
Pakenham was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1942.[6]
Placed on the Retired List on 8 January, 1952.[7]
