Chief Boatswain George Harris, R.N. ( – 2 September, 1923) served in the Royal Navy.

There is another George Harris, a gunner born 9 October, 1872.

Life & Career of the Bosun

Harris was promoted to the rank of Boatswain on 12 May, 1880.

He was pensioned at his own request on 6 February, 1899. Later that year, he asked to re-join the navy but was told his request "c[ould] not be entertained."

Harris was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Chief Boatswain on 27 May, 1916. He died at Plymouth Hospital of stomach cancer on 2 September, 1923.
