H.M.S. X1 was a large cruiser submarine in the Royal Navy launched in 1923 and completed in 1925.
Service
Construction was overseen by Robert Henry Taunton Raikes, who was appointed to the vessel on 11 December, 1922[1], but on 29 January, 1925, Philip Esmonde Phillips was appointed, to assume command when the vessel finally commissioned in December, 1925.[2]
