WITH reference to H.F. 1187/68 of 24th September 1916, only six ranges were taken altogetlier, at considerable intervals and no value could be obtained from them.
The roll containing this information was therefore not kept and has since been destroyed.

Narrative
During the course of the battle Erin fired no 13.5-inch shells1 and only six rounds of 6-inch ammunition.2 Midshipman Norman McClean Lockhead wrote afterwards:
