Vice-Admiral (retired) SIR Benjamin Charles Stanley Martin, D.S.O., C.B.E., K.B.E. (18 July, 1891 – 3 June, 1957) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
He was the son of Benjamin Leers Martin, a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy who was killed when the Victoria sank on 22 June 1893.
Martin was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 28 May, 1915[1] and fought in Malaya at the Battle of Jutland.
Martin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 13 October, 1918.[2]
Martin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 13 October, 1926.[3]
Martin was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1931.[4]
Martin was promoted to the rank of Captain in June, 1935.
World War II
Martin was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 July, 1944.
Martin was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral (retired) in September, 1948.
