Commander (retired) Francis Henry Eldred Shipton, O.B.E., R.N. (29 April, 1862 – 12 April, 1937) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Yorkshire, the son of Reverend P. M. Shipton.

Shipton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 26 January, 1884.

Placed on the Retired List as unfit on 15 May, 1884.

Shipton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 26 January, 1892.

Shipton was promoted to the rank of Commander in recognition of his wartime service on 11 November, 1918.
