H.M.S. Ferret was one of forty-two "A" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "26 knotter".

Service

Operated as part of the Devonport Instructional Flotilla until being transferred to become a tender of the gunnery training school Cambridge on 2 February 1900.[7]

Ferret managed 24 knots at a full-speed trial at Plymouth on 29 June, 1900.[8]

She participated in a Naval Review for the King at Cowes from 31 July to 6 August, 1907, and was responsible for dismantling a defensive boom before the fleet assembled.[9]
