Commander (retired) Gerald Aylmer Wilson, R.N. (23 March, 1886 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of a solicitor, J. G. Wilson.

Wilson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1908.

Wilson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1916.

In December 1917, Wilson was appointed to a course in mining. Upon completion of the course in February, 1918, he was appointed to Aurora as first officer. This lasted only until be was appointed to Egmont, additional for charge of a Hydrophone Training School on 5 March, 1918. He left there whenhe was appointed in command of the gunboat Aphis on 28 June, 1918.[1]

Having recently suffered from neurasthenia, Wilson was placed on the Retired List as medically unfit on 14 April, 1919.

Wilson was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 23 March, 1926.
