Commander (retired) Geoffrey Warburton, D.S.O., O.B.E., R.N. (23 January, 1887 – ) was a submarine officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Liverpool the son of physician J. W. Warburton, Esq..
Warburton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1908.
Warburton was appointed in command of the submarine B 9 on 13 May, 1913.[1]
Warburton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1916.
In mid-November 1917, Warburton was appointed in command of the submarine J 6.
Warburton was loaned to the Royal Australian Navy on 7 November, 1919. It was to last two years, but was twice extended another year. He returned to the Royal Navy on 19 October, 1923.
Warburton was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 14 July, 1927.
