Egerton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1913.^[1]

Egerton was appointed in command of the destroyer Medina on 2 October, 1918.^[2]

Egerton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (emergency) on 15 February, 1921.

Egerton was promoted to the rank of Commander on (emergency) on 8 May, 1946.
