Admiral Charles Frederick Corbett, C.B., M.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (21 November, 1867 – 29 January, 1955) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Corbett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 January, 1891.[1]
He was appointed in command of the destroyer Janus on 25 August, 1899.[2] Corbett was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June 1907.
Corbett was appointed in command of the first class protected cruiser Blake on 25 June, 1908.[3]
On 16 September 1911, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Flora, recommissioning her at Colombo for service with the China Station.[4]
Corbett was appointed in command of the battleship Glory on 1 August, 1914.[5]
He was to become Captain of the battleship Jupiter on 16 March, 1916.[6]
Corbett was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 January, 1919, vice Oliver.[7] He was appointed Rear-Admiral Commanding the Rosyth Reserve on 1 May, 1919.[8] He was placed on the Retired List, at his own request, dated 14 October, 1922.[9]
He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 31 July, 1924.[10] He was advanced to Admiral on the Retired List on 22 February, 1928.[11]
