Lieutenant Hubert Alfred Foster, R.N., Retired (18 April, 1866 – 23 May, 1946) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Foster was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 4 April, 1899.

Some time before 1904,likely while appointed to Diana in the Mediterranean, Foster incurred the Admiralty's dissatisfaction for causing the loss of a practice torpedo by failing to ensure that the range was clear.

Foster was appointed to Cyclops on 14 November, 1912. He provided torpedo services there until 24 March, 1919.

Foster was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 4 April, 1914.

Foster was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Lieutenant on 18 April, 1921.
