Captain (retired) Thomas Oloff de Wet, (27 February, 1869 – 30 March, 1940) served in the Royal Navy and the Royal Naval Reserve. Eric Oloff de Wet was most likely related to him.

Life & Career

De Wet was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 October, 1895.

De Wet retired with a step in rank on 25 January, 1911. He served in Vancouver as a Transport Officer during the last stages of the war and reverted to the Retired List on 15 November 1919. He was subsequently promoted to the rank of Captain in recognition of war service.
