Captain (retired) Ernest Hamilton-Bate, (8 September, 1871 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Hamilton-Bate was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1898.

On 20 October, 1906, he was appointed to Hannibal for navigation duties. On 30 May, 1908 he was re-appointed and made the ship's first and navigation officer.[1]

His only sea-going command was that of Aquarius, from just over two years, starting on 6 November, 1909.[2]

His May 1911 application for a Coast Guard appointment was not approved.[3]

He was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Commander on 8 September, 1916.

Married 10 September, 1917.

Post-War
