Commander Eric Clover Ward, R.N. (9 August, 1885 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Leck, Staffordshire.
Ward was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 August, 1906.
Ward was appointed to Benbow as torpedo officer on 1 August, 1914 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 August, 1914. He was serving in this capacity in Benbow at the Battle of Jutland.
He served in the battleship throughout the war, and was next promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1918. On 21 January, 1919, he was appointed to the light cruiser Birmingham, serving in her until 25 October.
Ward was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 22 April, 1920.
