Commander R.N.R. (retired) Gerald Hugh Chamberlain (11 October, 1887 – 1 January, 1956) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Chamberlain was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 13 October, 1914. He was appointed to the light cruiser Glasgow on 8 January, 1916. He remained in her until 23 March 1918 when he received an appointment to an illegible ship.[1]
Chamberlain was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 13 October, 1922.[2]
Chamberlain was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 10 October, 1932.[3]
World War II
In 1948, he reported that he was living in Broadstairs, Kent, and fit for service if needed. He was working with sludge vessels at the time.[4]
