Vice-Admiral SIR Charles Douglas Carpendale, K.C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (18 October, 1874 – 21 March, 1968) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
In February 1911 Carpendale was appointed as captain of Good Hope.[1]
He was appointed in command of the armoured cruiser Shannon on 5 March, 1912.[2]
In September 1914, he assumed command of the armoured cruiser Donegal.[3]
He was appointed to command the light cruiser Achilles on 20 June, 1917.[4]
On the occasion of the King's birthday he was appointed an Additional Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 3 June, 1918.[5]
He was appointed Captain of Benbow on 21 February, 1919.[6]
