H.M. T.B. 12 was one of 19 first-class torpedo boats of the T.B. 1 class.

Service

In 1881, there were twenty T.B.s in all; T.B. 12 was equipped with an outrigger torpedo (rather than Whitehead) and one of eleven boats serving out of Portsmouth. It was the only boat with an outrigger torpedo.[3]

She was stationed in Chatham in 1895, one of two T.B.s of less than 125 feet, along with eight of greater length.[4]
