H.M.S. E 42 was one of 57 submarines of the E class.

Career

On 29 April 1917, E 42 torpedoed UB 23 at 52deg 48' N., 3deg 33' E., but the torpedo's warhead failed to detonate.[4]

E 42 torpedoed Moltke while she was was returning to base in difficulty on 24 April, 1918.[5]
