H.M.S. L 1 was one of thirty-five "L" class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

She collided with a Chinese junk on 29 April, 1925.

From at least early 1925, to at least mid-1927, she was part of Fourth Submarine Flotilla on the China Station.[8][9]
