Commander (retired) Edward Christopher Bindloss, (26 November, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of A. H. Bindloss, Esq., the medical officer at the Harrow School.

Bindloss served in the battlecruiser H.M.S. Princess Royal from November 1912 to May 1915. On 30 May, he was appointed to the battleship Queen Elizabeth. In this appointment, Bindloss was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 May, 1916. In February 1917, he was appointed to the battleship Iron Duke, where he served until November 1918. At this point, he started courses to become a torpedo officer.[1]

Bindloss was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 May, 1924.[2]

Bindloss was promoted to the rank of Commander on 26 November, 1934.[3]

World War II

He served at Vernon and with the Director of Torpedoes and Mining. He reverted to the Retired List on 4 November, 1945.[4]
