H.M.S. Achilles was one of five Leander Class light cruisers completed for the Royal Navy. She was transferred to the Royal New Zealand Navy in 1941 as H.M.N.Z.S. Achilles and to the Indian Navy as H.M.I.S. Delhi in 1948.

Service

She completed to full complement at Chatham on 10 October, 1933 for service with the Second Cruiser Squadron of the Home Fleet.[5]

She re-commissioned at Chatham on 31 March, 1936 for service with the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.
