Commander (retired) Edward Newdigate Boulton, (21 July, 1895 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Arthur Thomas Boulton, who worked with the Bank of England.[1]

Boulton was appointed to Martial from 8 December 1915 to 1 February, 1917, seeing action at the Battle of Jutland as part of the Eleventh Destroyer Flotilla. He then received instruction in submarines, and served in C 5 and G 1, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1917. In May 1918 he was appointed to the large fleet submarine K 10.[2]

He commanded M.L. 475 from 23 September through December 1919.[3]

Boulton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1925.[4]

World War II

Boulton was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander on 21 July, 1940.[5]
