Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. Forbes Shepherd Duncan, R.N.R. (19 June, 1888 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve. His Service Record records his middle name as Shepperd.

Life & Career

Duncan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 25 November, 1916.[1]

Duncan commanded an unnamed mine sweeping trawler from 12 June to 19 September 1917 when he was placed in command of a motor drifter and in charge of a flotilla of mine-sweeping motor drifters operating out of Waterford.[2]

Following a course in minesweeping, on 4 December 1917 Duncan was given command of a minesweeping trawler and charge of another flotilla of such vessels at Queenstown.[3]

On 27 July 1918 he was appointed in command of the paddle minesweeper Lady Evelyn and placed in command of a formation of such vessels at Belfast. He was demobilised on 2 July 1919.[4]
